PLC-Multipoint Launches The Bantam Control System

PLCBuildings, a division of PLC Multipoint, has announced availability of The Bantam, an 8-relay, all-in-one lighting control panel. The Bantam comes standard with 8 relays, 8 switch inputs, an astronomical clock and keypad programming. The panel also comes standard with 4 analog photosensor inputs and Micro SD card.

Control Wiring: A Primer

Control wiring provides a path for command and status communication between control devices in a lighting and control system and, in many cases, power to the devices as well. Wiring is interrelated with overall lighting control system considerations—such as selection of control system and components, layout and installation practices—and is therefore an important consideration when choosing a lighting control solution.

Photosensors: Technology and Major Trends

Daylight harvesting’s value proposition is fairly simple: As daylight levels increase in a space, electric light levels can be automatically reduced to maintain a target task light level and save energy. All automatic daylight harvesting control systems need a device that can measure light levels and signal a controller to dim or switch the lights in response to daylight contribution. This device is called a photosensor. The photosensor is a small device that can include a light-sensitive photocell, input optics and an electronic circuit used to convert the photocell signal into an output control signal, all within a housing and with mounting hardware.

Lighting Control Panel Manufactured by PLC-Multipoint, Powered by Panasonic

Panasonic Electric Works of America and PLC-Multipoint, Inc. have announced a contractual relationship whereby PLC-Multipoint will act as a United States distributor of Panasonic brand of lighting control equipment based on the unique Full – 2Way communication protocol. PLC-Multipoint will also use Panasonic brand components for their own product lines.
