Green Light New York and IESNY Presents “Controls Freaks” Event

04/02/2012 by Lighting Controls Association Leave a Comment

Control Freaks, presented by Green Light New York and IESNYC, invites a panel of “control freaks”–industry and academic experts–to explore the many facets of Lighting Control Systems:

Daylighting controls have a huge potential for energy savings and peak-demand reduction. How can this potential be realized? What are the impediments and pitfalls?

What is the future of building control systems? What can we expect from integration, wireless technology, smart grids, and the internet?

Do emerging control technologies have the potential to backfire, when beta and first generation products don’t live up to the promised potential and consumers get annoyed and tape them over and turn them off?

Control Freaks will answer these and other questions, including: the current state of the art of control systems; real world application experiences; and what’s in the R&D pipeline.

Moderator: Pat Sapinsley, President, Build Efficiently, LLC; Visiting Scholar, Harvard University’s Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering
